First Cooking Show!
I am having a VERY rough diet week. If I gain this week, I can’t shrug and say, “Doh dee doh, don’t know why this one happened.” I’ll have to say, “Yeah… I haven’t weighed or measured my food, and I’m pretty sure I’ve eaten WAY too late and WAY too much.”
I seem to have lost my fire and passion. Tina has, too, and I think we’re currently feeding off of each other’s lack of enthusiasm. But it’s fire and passion for eating healthy. Not for exercise. We’re still going to the gym. We went for a C25K run around our neighborhood just last night, and it felt good.
We’ve recommitted to doing this right TODAY. I’m not changing my weigh-in date or anything. Whatever I weigh Saturday is my weight for the week, good bad or ugly. I’ll just have to chalk the month of April up to a standstill and backtrack, weight wise, but that’s okay, because I’m not in a contest. I’m not eligible to win $250,000 and have confetti rain down on me from the Biggest Loser Stage. I’m just trying to live a healthier, longer life with Tina.
Okay, now that the whining is over, on with our regularly scheduled post.
I promised a cooking video on Sunday. I made it Saturday, but I’m just now getting around to posting it. I got so excited about the Aurorae Yoga Mat giveaway that I’m afraid everything else just took a backseat. And please, still enter and tell your friends! You have two more days to enter!
Tina and I are both huge dorks in this video, but that’s pretty appropriate, because we’re huge dorks in real life, too. (And please notice my tie-dye apron – Tina will have one next video.) But it was fun, and we’re definitely going to do it again. Hopefully, we’ll post our video on how to make Almond Joy themed LaraBars this weekend.
I think we need a name for our cooking show. Any suggestions?

Ooooh can’t wait to watch this video when I get home from work!
I’m right there with you on the spark burning out on eating. I’ve done better the past couple of days but late last week and the weekend was a huge disaster! Hopefully we’ll all do better now! =)

We’ve got to get the spark back. When I figure out how, I’ll pass the word on.
Gosh I miss shrimp ! ( I have an allergy to shellfish and fish that went from being mild to life threatening overnight ). I have been searching for the pink salt in my area, but no one seems to carry it. I want it for the trace minerals more than anything else !

I found pink salt at TJ Maxx of all places. Do you have one of those around you? That’s where I buy all of my novelty salts and peppers.
OMG you two are soooo cute!
And cute kitchen too!!!
Listen to me Jeremy, I need you to find your fire and passion in every aspect of your life. The work you do today helps to propel me (and others like me) forward on our path to becoming wicked healthy.
WICKED HEALTHY!

Yay, we’re cute.
I’m working on finding the spark. I know I’m going to, and I’ll share it the second I do.
Thanks for all of your kind words and comments. People like you really are a big help in keeping me going.
I love it! How did you edit your video?! I should do a short cooking show one day too haha.
I would name it Stellar Cooks
Or something cool like that. I love the tie-dye apron. It’s hilarious.
Yummy on the shrimp!
As far as lacking the fire for healthy eating, sometimes I find it helpful to switch things up so that it’s not so routine, so you can keep adding new flavors and tastes to your palette. Then again, I can’t stick with the same five ingredients so I really like mixing things up. Either way, have fun in the kitchen. Enjoy yourselves. Enjoy the process, and hopefully that’ll re-light your desire.

I have a program called Corel Video or something similar. Email me about it.
Glad you digged the apron. Tina will have a tie-dyed one soon.
And I like Stellar Cooks… That may be what we use.
Fab video! I hope you can get your groove back with the healthy eating thing!

Me too. I feel confident that after last night, I’m almost there.
Another great video Jeremy, I’m really enjoying these. And those shrimp look YUMMY, I’m definitely going to have to give that a try.
I know exactly what you mean about starting to lose the drive. When I first started this journey, I was totally gung-ho, but I’ve felt it slowly fading recently. We just need to keep reminding ourselves of all the good reasons we are doing this. Having my blog has been a great help at staying motivated too – I really don’t think I would have been as successful as I’ve been without it.

Thanks! The shrimp were pretty easy, really, and good with pasta, too. The blog has helped a little, but I look at how much ground I’ve lost, and it’s a little frustrating. I just have to refocus. Not sure how yet, but I’ll figure it out.
That was so cool! Can’t wait for you guys to appear on the Food Network. I had no idea that shrimp were high in cholesterol though..but that just shows I need to pay more attention to nutrition facts.
I know exactly what you mean about losing the diet drive too…except I seem to have never really had it to begin with, which sucks. I get gungho for a few days…or a week…then I fall. I haven’t resorted to ALL of my old habits, thankfully, but enough to slow down my weight loss.
We can do this and get back on track though!

We would LOVE to have a cooking show on Food Network. That’s literally like a dream come true. I doubt we know enough, but it would be fantastic.
We’ve all gotta find our way back on track. There must be some way to do it.
