I’m a Celebrity! A Fat Celebrity!

They aired our “sort of” weigh-in on WBKO this morning.  It pretty much consisted of us standing in front of the scale, the majority of us (me included) looking like dorks, while a voice over said our name and our weight.  Hey, I was just thrilled I didn’t have to take my shirt off.

Apparently, they’ll be doing our weigh in on t.v. every Wednesday morning.  Here’s the embedded video.

Workouts are going great. We have been in the pool everyday. I’m getting around 3 to 4 hours of cardio a day. I’m a little worried, honestly, that I might not be eating enough. Does anyone know how many calories someone my size (352 according to weigh in) should eat when doing 4 hours of cardio a day? I’m trying to keep it between 2000 and 2500. I hope that’s enough. I don’t want to go into starvation mode.

  • Dude, I want your autograph, mmmmkay?

Seriously, thats awesome, even the music playing during the vid :-P

There are alot of calorie calculators online that could give you an idea of what you should be eating, I dunno how accurate they are though (here is one that I’ve played with before, for an example: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm). Hope that helps some, are they giving you access to a nutritionist or anything at all?

You’re going to rock this, WooT!

  • Boy the pressure is on to stick with this!

  • Erin:

ON TV??? Count. My. Fatness. OUT!

Seriously, though…if you’re working with trainers, and working out THAT much…they should really give you some nutrition guidelines!!! I would ask them, because if you undereat, you could have a myriad of problems come up!

    You got this!!!

  • Jonathan:

Calories? Dont know exactly, but you should do fine on 2000-2500. I’m 230 lb and apparently to maintain that weight I can eat 2800. If you find the answer for yourself online, let me know.

    Challenge sounds great. You’re looking mean,son :)

  • @Andrew – It definitely is. I’m already finding myself in a mind game of, “Can I exercise a little more today, or…?” If I was on the Biggest Loser, I’d probably have a mental breakdown. :)

@Erin – I was just thrilled we weren’t shirtless on t.v. I felt like a huge dork during all of the t.v. filming anyway, because we can’t be ourselves. We have to pose or stand still…

@Jonathan – Thanks for the info. That’s the area I’m sticking in, and I still feel okay. There doesn’t seem to be a huge amount of information out there for calorie counts of people working out as much as I am right now.

  • Wow, that’s really cool to be on T.V. I would be terrified though! :)
I am looking forward to updates, I think you will do great. I can’t imagine doing 3 or 4 hours of cardio per day. Wow!

  • OMG weighing on TV!! That would be strong incentive–as long as it wouldn’t be shirtless I’d do it!!! :)

  • OK I Had to wait until I got home to see the video….that is so awesome! I hope you keep posting the vids. I love reality TV so of course I’m already invested in this.

PS–”Vaughn Flickner” is my new favorite name ever!

  • @Karyn – I took it easy last night, only did an hour and a half. I plan to do the same tonight and I’m hitting it hard this weekend. Money is definitely a motivator. :)

@Craig – I will definitely post them every time one is available to post. Last year’s contestants had to do shirtless. I’m just glad we aren’t. I have a sneaking suspicion they may film us tonight in the pool, but I can live with that. And Vaughn Flickner is an interesting name. :)

  • Steve, for some reason, your comment popped up in my spam filter. No idea why. It’s not like you were advertising for drugs or penis enlargement or something. :) Grand pianos shows up in my spam a lot, for some reason. Dunno. Maybe it’s a weight thing.

Anyway, they are not giving us any significant nutrition advice. It’s more of “eat healthy” and “make sure you don’t work out too much.” I’m a little nervous about tonight’s weigh-in. I think some of the others will definitely have lost more than me for the simple fact that I was already exercising and dieting before. Oh well. C’est la vie. :)
